Magic Kingdom

So I went to the Magic Kingdom last night with my roommates. It was so much fun!!!

Wen and Bree had never been to Disney World before but had been to Disney Land. Abby had never been to either place. In fact, Abby has never been on a vacation in her life. So watching her see Disney World for the first time made me so happy. She was like a little kid finally seeing a dream she never thought that she would. It was amazing walking around the park and looking at it through someone else's eyes who had never seen anything like this before. It was funny because she kept laughing at herself for being so happy. The grinning never stopped.

All of us watched the SpectaMagic parade- it's the one with all the characters lit up with Christmas looking lights and it's only at night. We also watched the Wishes fireworks. We rode a few rides but not many because we didn't get to the park until about 7:30. The rides we did go on were The Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain. Because the line at Space Mountain was so long we didn't get off the ride until 11:30 pm which was 30 minutes after the park closed but it was Special Magic hours which meant there were still lots of people in the park.

All in all, it was a great night.

Official

I am officially a Disney employee!!!!!!

I got my Disney badge and nametag today, I went to the 4 hour class of Traditions, during Traditions break I went shopping at the Company D store and got some cool stuff. I accidentally bought Sofie a present. I'll just have to find something good for Lexi and Mik before I send it.

Tonight, to celebrate the fact that we are official Disney employees, I am going to the Magic Kingdom with my roommates. Bree, Abby and Wen have never been before so that is going to be awesome. Bree is so excited, it's like having an adult child with me. There's someone like me!! Yay!!!!!!!!!!

This is going to be so much fun. I can't wait. Well, I need to go now and write Thank You cards and call my loan company. Some things have to get done you know?

Second Day

I love my roommates!!!!

We are all such Disney freaks it's amazing. This is going to be fun!!!

We have gone shopping a lot. Today me Wendy S. and Abby went to Downtown Disney for window shopping. We are going to go so broke by the end of our 7 months here. There is so much that we want! It will be so fun.

I signed up for a class for the summer program. It's Advanced Hospitality Management. I can sign up for a fall class too later in the program if I want. This is going to be so cool!!

I found out that I am working at the Magic Kingdom on Main Street. I will either be at Casey's Corner (a full out food place with hot dogs, hamburgers, etc.), The Cone Shop (all ice cream) or The Bake Shop. 2 of my roommates will also be working at Magic Kingdom. How cool is this!?!

There is a pool party tonight where I am getting free pizza (my roommates just informed me of that since I told them I was going to eat leftovers for dinner). That's going to be fun.

I have Traditions tomorrow which counts as my first real day of work. I'm getting paid for it. Yay! Afterwards, me and my roommates are going to the Magic Kingdom since half of my roommates have never been to Disney World. Then on Saturday I have a class teaching me about food and beverage training stuff and on Sunday I have an orientation of the Magic Kingdom. I will be walking all day figuring stuff out but I get to go there before the park even opens. Can you imagine what that would be like!? I bet it's going to be surreal.

My roommates and I have also started talking about Thanksgiving dinner. Since we all have to work Thanksgiving and my parents and John are coming down we (my roommates and I) are going to make our own first (for me anyways) Thanksgiving dinner. We are already planning who will make what. Exciting!!!

I think that's all that I have for right now. I'll keep posting as time goes by.

Orientation

I made it! I got through the first steps of orientation today. There's more tomorrow and I start work on Friday. It's moving so quick!!

I met all my roommates. 5 amazingly fun girls. I forsee this semester with them as nothing but exciting. They are: Bree (Brianna) from California, Wendy from Pennsylvania, Wen (Wendy) from California, Beth from New York and Abby from Iowa.

I have a 3 bedroom apartment, with 2 bathrooms, a medium sized living room, a small-ish kitchen and it is directly across from the big pool at the complex.

Mom helped me move in, we went out to lunch with 2 of roommates, she then took me to dinner after my 2 hour housing meeting and then I took her to the airport. I am assuming that she made it home ok.

I can't wait for this!! It is going to be amazing. At the moment, I don't care if I do or don't get the professional internship. This part of my life is going to be simply amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Arrival

I am in Orlando!!!!!!!!

Mom and I got here around 2:45 today after driving for 9 hours yeaterday and 4.5 hours today. I found my apartment complex; it is 4 lights away from Downtown Disney/less than a mile away from Downtown Disney. I will upload pictures of my first few days here in the next couple of days.

Mom and I will be eating dinner tonight in Downtown Disney and I will probably be getting zero sleep tonight. I am trying my hardest not to bounce around everywhere. Not driving my mother completly insane would be a smart thing to do.

We are going to go swim for about an hour, go to dinner, maybe a movie, and hopefully I will hear from my new roommate sometime today so that I can meet her before tomorrow. Wish me luck as I begin my amazing new life of dreams come true!!!!!
